My hate is general, I detest all men;
Some because they are wicked and do evil,
Others because they tolerate the wicked,
Refusing them the active vigorous scorn
Which vice should stimulate in virtuous minds.

I find there is a woeful lack of Twin Peaks fanart on DevArt, but holy shit this is amazing.

On a lighter note, I received some recipes in my email from the Court of Two Sisters (a BADASS restauraunt I love in NOLA). So I will share them with ya'll.

1/3 lb. butter
2 1/3 cups pecan pieces, chopped
4 stems, celery, diced small
¼ cup garlic, minced
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 tbsp. salt
1 gallon vegetable stock
½ gallon rice, uncooked

Method: In a heavy bottom pot, over medium heat, melt butter and add pecans, celery, garlic, cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt. Raise heat to medium high and cook until pecans start to release smell. Add vegetable stock and turn fire to high. Once at a rolling boil, add rice and cook until half of the stock is absorbed. Reduce heat to a simmer and reduce another quarter of the way. Turn flame off and let rice absorb to rest of the stock.

Yield: approximately 20 servings (16 cups)

½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup milk
6 cups sweet potatoes, peeled,
cut into one inch cubes, steamed and cooled

Method: Combine butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and milk in a mixing bowl and stir well. Fold in sweet potatoes. Place in a 2-quart casserole dish and top with the topping (see recipe below). Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup dark brown sugar
½ cup flour
¼ tsp. cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 cup pecans, chopped

Method: Combine all in a mixing bowl and stir well.

Yield: 10-12 servings

THINK I'll be making these for a festive meal.

thoughts on shows I've been watching lately:

Still think Dexter jumped the shark in season 4. it's been downhill ever since. season six = a massive improvement over season 5, but bland villains with an obvious upcoming twist make this one quite lackluster. Also, Dexter's monologues have become of a repetitive nature. "Is there light in me? There's no light in me." Blah blah blah yes we get it already.

Boardwalk Empire's season two has somehow managed to exceed the very high expectations set by season 1. By far the best show currently airing. My favorite.

Walking Dead season 2 moved slowly and dragged its feet just like the zombies that populate the show (although there was quite a lack of them this season). The mid-season finale promises a lot of changes in the second half of the season but if it continues to move so slowly then I'm just going to give up on this show.

I find some irony that I'm completely addicted to a show about a meth dealer. I finished the first season of Breaking Bad in 2 sittings and am already almost done with the second season. So far, gotta say, this is one of the best shows I've ever seen. I expect to have the rest of the show devoured pretty soon.

And some nostalgia. Finished Sliders season 2, there's still 2 eps in season 1 I could go back and finish since they weren't on Netflix. Knowing that Sliders jumps the shark in season 3, debating watching at least part of it. Me and Eric got 3 episodes left of Twin Peaks; its one of the best shows I've ever seen as well. One episode of Twin Peaks had 3 mind blowing moments that left me reeling. Now THAT'S the way to do a 'mid season finale' (wasn't really of TP, but was the conclusion or led up to the conclusion of the first main storyline). Second storyline, me and Eric keep saying it's like a Dexter villain, lol. A lot of shows nowadays could seriously take some notes from Twin Peaks.

Other than that, I started Skyrim, playing as a high elf to start out with. Works on my laptop like a dream. finished Bleak Falls cave or whatever.

robble robble.

Why? Because it's so fucking quotable, and unintentionally hilarious, and.. amazing. I have seen it five times now. The 8bit flash game is fucking amazing as well.

#2 goes to Repo! The Genetic opera.

David: Oh so mang I have a potentially lolz tale that I just remembered
David: Do you remember Tiffany?
Virgil: Si!
Virgil: How could I forget?
David: well she had been messaging me pretty regularly just recently, I'd say since when I had started school
David: about random stuff mostly, nothing particularly interesting. Then just recently she asks me if I know of any good "underground" movies.
David: Duuuuuuude, what are some good underground movies?

David December 15 at 3:01am
lol, I have no idea. The last "underground" movie I saw I guess was this one called "A Serbian Film." It was a pretty intense movie, def. not for the sensitive.
David: December 15 at 6:06am Report
Hmmmmm, what is it about? Does it happen to be about Serbia, by any chance? Just taking a shot in the dark.....ha

David December 15 at 2:14pm
Lol, no, it's about a retired porn star named Milos who receives an offer from some eccentric director to do a film. He's offered an insane amount of money so, even though he doesn't know the guy's background, he agrees. And basically the story touches on things like newborn porn, snuff, rape, child rape, and more on his trip. It's ridiculous lol

December 15 at 6:35pm Report
Uh........Idk about that one. Lol

David : David Scott December 15 at 6:52pm
Lol does it sound too crazy for you or what?

December 15 at 7:02pm Report
Uhhhh....kinda. lol

David : And after that I think she blocked me on Facebook and even MYSPACE too rofl
David : So I guess the lesson here is that
David : I should probably never bring up "A Serbian Film"
Virgil: LMFAO
David : with normal people in casual conversation

Alright so here's my plan for Hannukah supper so far (trying to find relatively simple recipes):

Broccoli kugel:

Potato pancake: (although I might just go to the dark side and use a box mix, I haven't decided)

Then of course, this is the recipe I always use for sufganiot: It is fucking delicious.

My grandma is making rolled grapeleaves and cabbage rolls, as I mentioned earlier. Later tonight I need to make an inventory of what ingredients I need to get and what I don't need to get, since I plan on stopping at the grocery store after lunch at PF Chang's.

Normally we'd have kibbe balls too, but my grandma doesn't want to make them and my mom is being a drama queen. Anyways, I think that should be enough food.

I'm still not sure about the brisket recipe, so if anyone has any recs to that end I'd be glad to hear them.

I've been playing through the Dragon Age DLC and finished Witch Hunt and Leliana's song. They were both quite fun. I played through the former on my male Dalish elf who had a thing with Morrigan, so that was plenty fun. I had him offer to go with her in the end, and of course she couldn't say no. ;p Leliana's song made me like Leliana a whole lot more, and I unlocked the battledress of the provocateur. Such a sad story. reminds me of Melisande/Phedre.
